  • Awesome specs and crazy price – Motorola X40 is finally official

Awesome specs and crazy price – Motorola X40 is finally official

    Specs

The long-rumored, relentlessly teased Motorola X40 is now a reality. The Xiaomi 13 series and the Vivo X90 Pro Plus arrived at the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 party before Motorola, but the X40 has many positive specs.

To begin with, Motorola is now providing a 6.7-inch OLED screen with a display refresh rate of a whopping 165Hz. That is not the quickest refresh rate ever achieved on a smartphone. Device refresh rates of up to 240Hz have been observed in the past. However, the average flagship’s maximum frequency is 120Hz. Motorola is attempting to entice gamers with a combination of a more cheap price, the potent Adreno 740 GPU, and a modest Full HD+ resolution that won’t be as resource-intensive as QHD+ panels found on other flagships by maintaining the refresh rate at par with phones like the ROG Phone 6 Pro.

    Motorola X40

The Motorola X40’s 125W charging is another impressive feature. It also has wireless charging, but it’s dismally weak at only 15W, compared to 50W on the X30 Pro (Edge 30 Ultra worldwide), the flagship from the previous year. However, many people should be able to get by with the cable charger because it can top off the phone’s 4,600mAh battery to 50% in just 7 minutes.

The Motorola X40 has three lenses: a 50MP main sensor, a 50MP ultrawide lens, and a 12MP camera with a 2x optical zoom. Given that the Edge 30 Ultra from the previous year had a 200MP camera on board, the phone’s muffled camera specifications suggest a Pro version may be in the works.

    Motorola X40 price and availability

When it comes to price, the X40 occupies a highly desirable position among flagship models. The 8GB RAM + 128GB storage option is available for just 3,400 Chinese yuan (about $490). Additionally, it is available in versions with 8GB and 256GB of storage for 3,700 yuan (about $530), 12GB and 256GB for 4,000 yuan (about $573), and 12GB and 512GB for 4,300 yuan (about $616).

China will start selling the phone on December 22. It is anticipated to make its debut early in 2019.

  • Second 2022 flagship from Honor to be launched this month

Second 2022 flagship from Honor to be launched this month

Honor has been attempting to draw in prospective phone buyers ever since it broke relations with Huawei. It already sells some respectable mid-range smartphones and intends to compete with some of the best foldable devices available with its own model. However, Honor appears to desire a bigger piece of the flagship market because it plans to introduce a second high-end phone series for 2022 later this month.

Honor claims that it intends to surprise us with its forthcoming flagship in a tweet. On November 23 at 2:30 PM local time, China will debut the unnamed mobile device (1:30 AM ET). You shouldn’t because this launch is only for the Chinese market.

    honor flagship

Honor has so far kept the upcoming phone under wraps officially, but some rumors have already given away a few crucial things about it. A report from a Chinese source (via GSM Arena) says that the phone could end up being called Magic 5 and succeed the Honor Magic 4 that came out earlier this earlier. The same source also points out that the alleged Magic 5 could come powered by Qualcomm’s upcoming top-tier Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. Given Qualcomm is hosting its annual Snapdragon Summit on November 15, that makes sense.

In addition, it is claimed that the phone uses a 6.8-inch PWM dimming, similar to the Magic 4 Pro, to lessen eye strain. On the rear, there might be a 50MP camera with an IP68 grade for water and dust protection. The phone’s amazing 100W wired and 50W wireless charging, however, may be its greatest feature.

But given our experience with the Magic 4 Pro running Honor’s unique Magic UI, the business need to put more emphasis on software this time. Honor might tone down its aggressive battery management, which unnecessarily terminates apps in the background, and generally simplify the interface. We would also value prolonged software support.

We don’t have any pricing details for the alleged Honor Magic 5 so far, but you can check this space after the official launch on November 23 to see if Honor has priced its new flagship aggressively or not.

  • The 200MP camera from Galaxy S23 Ultra will make some exceptional low-light shots

The 200MP camera from Galaxy S23 Ultra will make some exceptional low-light shots

Aside from its opulent folding phones, Samsung produces some of the greatest Android phones money can now buy, and its Galaxy S22 models from this year are possibly the most attractive of them all. The Galaxy S23 series, which includes the S23 Ultra, S23 Plus, and regular S23 models, is now something we’re anticipating. The most recent hardware rumor is currently aiming to raise our expectations for the 200MP primary camera on the flagship Galaxy S23 Ultra.

    Galaxy S23

The Galaxy S23 Ultra’s behemoth of a sensor, according to leaker Ice universe on Twitter, will not only be absurdly high-res but will also have better performance in some key areas, bringing about the “biggest improvement” in Samsung flagships in years. We have already heard a lot about the likelihood that a 200MP sensor will serve as the primary lens on the device. In particular, the advancements might lead to greater low-light photography and videography outcomes.

The latest Expert RAW update improved the astrophotography capabilities of the current-generation Galaxy S22 series, and this rumor says that the 200MP low-light photos of the Galaxy S23 Ultra should be something to look forward to. It is unclear, though, if the sensor’s advancements would take the shape of bigger individual pixels or some other type of hardware improvement.

However, we are yet unsure of how well this will actually function and whether we can expect a smartphone’s camera to produce 200MP full-resolution photographs that are acceptable in low light. The tiny individual pixels in high-resolution smartphone sensors would struggle to collect enough information to recreate colors naturally, therefore pixel binning is likely here to stay for low-light performance.

Besides the 200MP primary, we can expect the Galaxy S23 Ultra to have a 12MP ultrawide and dual 10MP telephoto cameras. Under the hood, Samsung is likely to toss in the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC along with up to 12GB of RAM and 1TB of onboard storage.

  • Google Pixel 7 prototype photo gallery

Google Pixel 7 prototype photo gallery

We got our first official look at the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro at Google I/O, and now we’re getting even more due to an early prototype of the Pixel 7 appearing on eBay.

Today, an eBay auction appeared for someone selling what appears to be a Pixel 7 prototype. The listing was pulled down shortly after this item was published, about 1:30 p.m. ET.

The gadget is seen in its black “Obsidian” version, which includes a glossy glass back and the new metal camera bar that Google previously demonstrated. The device also includes a logo that is similar to previous Google prototypes but has been modified.

Because Google has previously shown the Pixel 7’s design, this eBay auction doesn’t reveal much new information, though it does confirm that the Pixel 7 will ditch the matte black frame of the Pixel 6 in favor of a textured metal frame. The mmWave antenna window, which was previously seen in CAD leaks, is also visible.

We can also see the Pixel 7 Pro in the mirror, with its unique camera bar snapping shots of this phone, which is a little amusing.

The listing went on to say that the phone already had Android 13 installed and that “pixel apps were in the development stage.

The only other thing we know from this leak is that the Pixel 7 will have 128GB of storage, as expected.

Google has already confirmed that the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro will be releasing this fall. Pixel 7 specs will include a second-generation Tensor chipset. This updated design will come in the “Obsidian” color we’re seeing here as well as being sold in “Lemongrass” and “Snow.”

  • Sharp Aquos R7- enormous 1-inch camera sensor … you can’t buy it

Sharp Aquos R7- enormous 1-inch camera sensor … you can’t buy it

    Sharp Aquos R7

Sharp is not a well-known smartphone manufacturer, but it is known in its home market of Japan for releasing phones with huge camera sensors and bizarre display technology. Sharp has introduced the Sharp Aquos R7, a follow-up to last year’s Aquos R6 with its excellent 1-inch rear camera, with several noticeable changes that set it apart from the greatest Android phones like the Galaxy S22 Ultra and Google Pixel 6 Pro.

The Aquos R7 has a 6.6-inch IGZO OLED panel with a variable refresh rate of 1-240Hz and an FHD+ (2730 x 1260) resolution (via GSMArena). It has a maximum brightness of 2,000 nits. The display is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus, and the phone has an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor embedded in the display.

The phone has a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, 12GB of RAM, 256GB of storage, and a 5,000mAh battery on the inside. All of this is contained within an IP68-certified body that is dust and water resistant. On the connectivity front, the R7 has Wi-Fi ac, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, USB-C, 5G, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

    Sharp Aquos R7

The Aquos line continues to be highlighted by its rear camera. The sensor size stays the same at 1-inch, but the resolution has been increased to 47.2MP from 20MP on the Aquos R6. It features a 19mm equivalent focal length and an f/1.9 aperture. The new Leica-branded camera, according to Sharp, can capture up to 1.8x more light than the previous 1-inch sensor.

Real-time face, body, and eye detection, Octa PD autofocus, 8K video recording, and 4x lossless digital zoom are among the camera’s other prominent features. A 1.9MP portrait camera is the sole other camera on the back. A 12.6MP selfie camera is housed in the display’s central punch-hole.

The phone includes Android 12 out of the box with Sharp’s custom UI on top of it. The device will be available in black and silver colors in Japan from July on Docomo and Softbank. Sadly, like previous Aquos phones, the R7 is unlikely to make its way outside its home market, so you likely won’t be able to get your hands on one.

  • The Galaxy S22+ alternative – OPPO Find X5 Pro

The Galaxy S22+ alternative – OPPO Find X5 Pro

In 2022, we’ve already seen a lot of fantastic phones. The Galaxy S22+ is a terrific all-around phone, while the S22 Ultra marks the return of the Note series and the S21 FE establishes a new benchmark for budget flagships.

This year, Samsung fired the initial shot, but Chinese makers aren’t far behind. I’m excited to watch what OPPO does this year; the brand’s Find and Reno series have seen a 50 percent year-over-year rise in sales in the previous 12 months, and it’s gaining traction in major western markets like the UK.

With this year’s Find X5 Pro, OPPO hopes to continue that trend. The phone, which is aimed squarely at the Galaxy S22+, is now available in global markets. It has a similar look to the Find X3 Pro from last year, but it has a number of intriguing new features under the hood, including OPPO’s in-house image NPU, the MariSilicon X. There’s also a Hasselblad connection, improved internals, and new charging technology that supports up to 80W wired and 50W wireless charging.

    oppo find x5 pro

Does the Find X5 Pro have what it takes to compete with Samsung’s best? With the Galaxy S22+ giving a solid overall package, does the Find X5 Pro have what it takes to go up against the best? Let’s have a look.

    Release

The Find X5 Pro was announced at Mobile World Congress on February 24, and it is now available for pre-order in the UK, with sales beginning on March 24. Here’s a breakdown of when the Find X5 Pro will be available worldwide:

    • Spain/Switzerland/Belgium/Netherland: March 14
    • Italy: March 17
    • Germany/Portugal: March 21
    • France/UK: March 24
    • Australia: April 7
    • New Zealand: March 31/April 7
    oppo find x5 pro

The Find X5 Pro will be available in Asia-Pacific, the Middle East, and Africa after April, according to OPPO. The Find X5 Pro, like other OPPO phones, will not be available in North America.

The Find X5 Pro comes in only one configuration, with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, and costs £1,049 ($1,365) in the UK. There are several freebies available if you pre-order: the Enco X wireless earphones (which are great), an OPPO Watch Free smartwatch, a 50W AirVOOC wireless charging stand, and a Kevlar Aramid Case. The pre-purchase freebies are worth £373 ($485), so if you’re interested in the Find X5 Pro, you’d better place your order by March 23.

OPPO also offers a normal Find X5 model with an FHD+ 120Hz AMOLED screen, Snapdragon 888 processor, identical cameras to the Find X5 Pro, and both wired and wireless charging options of 80W and 30W. This model, which costs £749 ($975), includes a glass back and 8GB of RAM with 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage.

The camera bump on the Find X3 Pro blended smoothly into the chassis last year, and OPPO is continuing that trend with the Find X5 Pro.

This year, the impact is a touch stronger, which makes the phone stand out even more than normal among the glass-and-metal designs that now dominate this category.

Overall, the Find X5 Pro gets a lot right in terms of design. The ceramic back is fabulous and it is more resistant to tumbles, the phone feels great to hold and use, and although it is heavy, it is well-balanced. This may just be my favorite phone design of 2022, and that white color option in particular looks very distinctive.

    Performance

It wouldn’t be right for a flagship to arrive in 2022 without Qualcomm’s latest chipset, thus the Find X5 Pro is powered by Qualcomm’s 4nm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor. There’s also a larger multi-tier cooling system to guarantee the phone doesn’t overheat during gaming sessions, and I didn’t notice any thermal concerns during my week with the phone.

There’s not a lot to say about the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor. It performs admirably in almost every situation, and I don’t see that changing for at least a few years. The Find X5 Pro breezes through day-to-day work with ease, and the technology on offer is overkill for most use cases.

In terms of memory and storage, the Find X5 Pro comes in a single 12GB/256GB combination, which I like because OPPO now includes 256GB of storage as standard on its mid-range and high-end handsets. Although there is no microSD card port, the internal storage should be sufficient for most people.

Another feature I like is the haptic engine; the Find X5 Pro has a vibration motor that delivers excellent feedback. And like everything else about the phone, it is inherently customizable — you can adjust the vibration intensity and pattern of feedback from the settings. OPPO did a brilliant job here, and I want the same motor to make its way to the OnePlus 10 Pro and other BBK offshoots of the Find X5 Pro.

When it comes to connectivity, you’ll find Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, AptX HD audio codec, and global 5G bands with a 360-degree antenna design. While the Find X5 Pro isn’t launching in North America, it has the requisite Sub-6 5G bands for the region. Here’s the breakdown of all the 5G bands: n1/2/3/5/7/8/12/13/18/20/25/26/28/38/40/41/66/77/78/79.

And finally, the Find X5 Pro includes IP68 dust and water resistance, giving it the ability to withstand the elements. You’re getting all the hardware features you could want in a flagship, and the Find X5 Pro holds its own against the best Android phones.

  • Sony Xperia 10 IV – familiar design and improvements

Sony Xperia 10 IV – familiar design and improvements

For as big as Sony is, it’s never been a giant in the world of smartphones. That hasn’t stopped it from releasing new devices for its audience of devoted fans. A week after spotting renders showing off the Sony Xperia 1 IV, we’re getting a new look at another phone on its way from the company, in all its bezel-ful glory.

These renders, courtesy of OnLeaks and Zoutons, show the future Xperia 10 IV with a familiar appearance. With a tall and thin 6-inch flat OLED display and those nostalgia-inducing bezels on the chin and forehead, the new phone looks a lot like the Xperia 10 III before it. Although they aren’t as large as they once were, they are still a far cry from the elegant, fullscreen displays found on handsets like the Galaxy S22 Ultra.

The phone’s back is quite plain, featuring a triple camera array, an LED flash, and the Sony Xperia branding. It also has a fingerprint sensor on the side, a 3.5mm headphone connection on the top — rejoice, wired headphones fans — and a USB-C port on the bottom. There are two front-firing speakers.

Despite its numerous similarities to the Xperia 10 III, the Xperia 10 IV has a few exterior differences. There’s no distinct Google Assistant button, for example – barely a miss, given that there are so many methods to access Assistant these days that a physical control feels extraneous. However, a shutter button, similar to the one found on the Xperia 1 series, would have been a great substitute. When it comes to differences, the frame is likely the most evident. Sony appears to be following the lead of Samsung and Apple, since the Xperia 10 IV has flat edges rather than rounded ones.

Sony’s upcoming Xperia 10 IV will likely have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 690 chipset under the hood, paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage on the base model. It’ll be powered by a 4000mAh cell and come in Black, White, Mint Green, and Berry Blue colors. Pricing and launch info are still up in the air, but the new smartphone is expected to hit the markets in mid-2022.

  • Motorola Edge X30 Under Screen Edition set to go official in March

Motorola Edge X30 Under Screen Edition set to go official in March

Motorola unveiled the Moto Edge X30 flagship smartphone a few months ago in December 2021, which also happens to be the world’s first smartphone to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC.

Now, the business is preparing to release a new Moto Edge X30 Under Screen Edition smartphone, which, as the name suggests, includes an under-display camera sensor. The phone is expected to be released in the spring, according to the manufacturer.

The Moto Edge X30 Under Screen Edition will be released in the Chinese market in March, according to Chen Jin, General Manager of Lenovo China’s Mobile Phone Business department. However, no exact date has been announced.

     Edge X30

Apart from the arrangement and sensor of the front-facing camera, we expect practically all of the characteristics of this new forthcoming smartphone to be identical to the conventional variant now on the market.

A 6.7-inch OLED Full-HD+ display with a 144Hz refresh rate and a 576Hz touch sampling rate is expected on the phone. It will have a DCI P3 color gamut of 100 percent, HDR10+, and an in-display fingerprint sensor.

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC will power the smartphone, which will be paired with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage.

It will most likely include a triple-camera configuration with a 50-megapixel primary sensor in the photography area. The phone will run the Android 12 operating system and be backed by a 5,000mAh battery with quick charging capabilities.

  • TCL 30 XE 5G – budget phone with 90Hz display

TCL 30 XE 5G – budget phone with 90Hz display

TCL has just released the TCL 30 XE 5G, a low-cost phone with some impressive specs.

TCL has produced a number of fascinating phones since establishing its own brand. This company is focusing on manufacturing affordable phones as well as challenging the luxury market and working on a foldable phone.

    TCL 30 XE 5G

    The TCL 30 XE 5G has a 1080p display at 90Hz

We’re not dealing with any high-end or ground-breaking specifications right away. This is a simple phone with some interesting features. It features a 6.52-inch 1080p+ LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate. While that may seem insignificant, it is enhanced by TCL’s NXTVISION technology. The display also features a touch sample rate of 180Hz.

The octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC clocked at 2.2GHz powers the TCL 30 XE 5G. There are 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, which should suffice for most casual users. If it isn’t, this phone can be expanded with a microSD card up to 512GB.

A triple camera package is available in the camera package. The main camera on this phone is 13 megapixels, with a 2 megapixel macro camera and a 2 megapixel depth sensor. The main camera can record 1080p video at 30 frames per second. There’s an 8MP selfie camera on the front. It appears to be a camera combo that will simply do the job.

TCL included a 3.5mm headphone jack, a 4,500mAh battery, mobile hotspot, a rear-mounted fingerprint reader, face unlock, Android 11 out of the box, and an 18W charger in the box to round out the features. So, this is a really basic start into the TCL 30 phone series.

    Complete spec sheet on GSMArena

Other details on this phone are scarce

We don’t know much about the TCL 30 XE 5G at the moment. We don’t know when or where this phone will be released, or how much it will cost when it does. We can expect a similar price to the TCL 30 V 5G, which is roughly midrange and costs $299. It could be a little lower due to some of the specifications being less reliable.

While this phone does not compete in the premium smartphone market, it is still a good option for individuals who do not require much from their phones. For those who aren’t used to more expensive screens, the 90Hz refresh rate should be a nice touch. While we don’t know when this phone will be released, it shouldn’t be long.
