Previous OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro updates

    • April 18, 2022: OnePlus rolled out a new system update for the OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro. The update carried Oxygen OS 12 version C.48 and went out to the flagships in India, North America, and Europe. There were no new features added with the update. However, it brought the April 2022 security patch to the phones. The changelog also mentioned system stability improvements.
    • March 21, 2022: OnePlus pushed out the stable Oxygen OS 12 update to the OnePlus 9R. The update was rolled out to users who were previously running the open beta version of the software. The OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro also got the incremental OxygenOS 12 update C.47 in North America and Europe. It optimized the stability of communication, fixed issues causing the operator’s name to be displayed incorrectly, improved system stability and camera fluency, and brought the March 2022 security patch.
    • March 10, 2022: OnePlus pushed out the Oxygen OS 12 C.46 update to the OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro. The company noted that the build will not release in North America due to specific country-related limitations. The firmware brought a bunch of improvements. However, the major change was the addition of the February security patch.
    • January 21, 2022: OnePlus rolled out update LE2125_11.C.44_1440_202201182114 (or 115) to the OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro in January. This update brought plenty of fixes for performance, display issues, cameras, and more. It also included the January 2022 security patch.
    • December 30, 2021: The OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro received Oxygen OS 12 C.40, which initially rolled out to global and Indian variants. The update fixed a few issues that the second Oxygen OS 12 release missed.
    • December 6, 2021: After a months-long beta program, the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro started getting a stable version of Oxygen OS 12, based on Android 12. However, due to intensely negative feedback to the update’s many bugs, OnePlus pulled it. The update restarted a week later.
    • November 25, 2021: Oxygen OS 11.2.10.10 rolled out to the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro. The update brought the November security patch and a few bug fixes but no significant changes.
    • September 17, 2021: OnePlus is rolling out a new Oxygen OS update (11.2.9.9) to the OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro. The update adds the September 2021 security patch and also brings the brand new Hasselblad XPan camera mode. There is also a slew of camera-related tweaks and other miscellaneous bug fixes.
    • July 29, 2021: OnePlus is rolling out Oxygen OS 11.2.4.4 to the OnePlus 9R. The update adds the July security patch to the phone and also brings the Bitmoji AOD feature that lets users place an avatar on their always-on display screen which changes based on activity and other factors. Fixes for “known issues” are bundled in the update alongside the updated GMS package.
    • July 19, 2021: OnePlus rolled out Oxygen OS 11.2.8.8 to the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro. It added one big feature for Ambient Display users — Bitmoji AOD. This lets users place an avatar on their always-on display screen which changes based on activity and other factors. The update also Fixed some “known issues” and added the July 2021 Android security patch.
    • June 6, 2021: The OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro gained Oxygen OS 11.2.7.7 which brought power consumption improvements, and camera tweaks, including an HDR option for video recording on the OnePlus 9 Pro.

#beta – Paranoid Android Sapphire available for the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro

The first beta build of the Paranoid Android Sapphire ROM for the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro has just been released by the Paranoid Android team. For quite some time, an Alpha version of the Android 12 based ROM has been available for both phones. The new beta version, on the other hand, offers a more stable software experience.

The Paranoid Android Sapphire Beta is now available for the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro, as announced by XDA Recognized Developer arter97. Several device-specific enhancements are included in the latest build, including redesigned blobs, improved sleep mode, fingerprint scanner improvements, and a transition to arter97’s kernel. Repainter integration, improvements from ProtonAOSP, a burn-in protection feature for devices with OLED panels, the latest f2fs tools, and more have all been added to the Paranoid Android platform.

The beta release still has a few known faults. These include delayed mobile data activation after reboot, Wi-Fi not working after a few reboots, and less-than-ideal pocket recognition, which can wake up the smartphone or activate gestures by accident.

If you wish to try out the Paranoid Android Sapphire Beta on your OnePlus 9/Pro, head over to the forum mentioned below. It includes a download link for the ROM as well as step-by-step instructions for flashing it. Although the beta build can be flashed onto a current Sapphire Alpha system, the developer recommends “a clean flash.”

  • OnePlus Nord 2T, will hit the shelves by May

OnePlus Nord 2T, will hit the shelves by May

Because of its recent 10 Pro introduction, all eyes are on OnePlus. While it has yet to be released internationally, Chinese users are already familiar with it. It’s OnePlus’ first flagship since being downgraded to virtually an Oppo sub-brand, and the company is already doing a lot of things differently with it. According to recent sources, the corporation may possibly be planning another launch – a revamp of its existing Nord 2 with familiar logo and intriguing enhancements. We now know when it will be released and how much it will cost according to a fresh leak.

    nord 2t

According to 91mobiles, the OnePlus Nord 2T would be released in India between April and May, citing leaker Yogesh Brar. It might cost anything from 30,000 to 40,000 dollars, or between $400 and $533. The Nord 2T could be a little more expensive than the standard model Nord 2, which costs 30,000 dollars. It’s unlikely that this phone will be released in the United States, as OnePlus prefers to keep its higher-end Nordic phones out of the hands of filthy ‘Muricans.

To refresh your memory, the Nord 2T was earlier rumored to have a MediaTek Dimensity 1300 chipset with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage (a still-unannounced chipset that will most likely be an update of the Dimensity 1200 seen in the Nord 2). It’ll also have ultra-fast 80W charging, exactly like the OnePlus 10 Pro, and given that it’ll have a 4,500 mAh battery, it should be able to charge from 0 to 100% in a couple of minutes.

If this sounds like your next phone and you’re not in the United States, keep an eye out for an announcement shortly.

  • OnePlus 10 Pro – the gaming champion

OnePlus 10 Pro – the gaming champion

The OnePlus 10 Pro, which will successor the OnePlus 9 Pro, will be one of the most interesting Android phones of next year. Many of the device’s internal specifications have now been revealed by rumors, allowing us to adjust our expectations accordingly.

The OnePlus 10 Pro is up against some stiff competition. The device’s expectations have been raised by its predecessor’s exceptional performance, which currently holds the title of “best gaming android phone” in our rankings.

    OnePlus 10

This is an incredible achievement, given that the Android device competes with niche gaming smartphones such as the ASUS ROG Phone 5 and yet manages to win, owing to its low price and well-balanced collection of features. According to the fresh information released by OnLeaks (via 91mobiles), we can already envisage what the future battle for flagship supremacy will look like.

The OnePlus 10 Pro that is expected to launch globally by April, is going to feature a wide set of specs that already place it at the top of the phone food chain. According to the leak the device is coming with a huge, 5000mAh battery, a Snapdragon 8 Gen1 by Qualcomm, and a high refresh rate, QHD+ 120Hz screen at 6.7 inches.

According to reports, the device will be available in two memory/storage configurations: 8GB/128GB and 12GB/256GB. The memory will be combined with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen1 processor, which will be released soon (on November 30th) and marks a significant shift in Qualcomm’s naming strategy.

Speculating further, the OnePlus 10 Pro is said to have a 48MP primary shooter, a 50MP ultra-wide and, an 8MP telephoto with 3.3x zoom on a square camera bump. On the selfie side, we expect to see a 32MP camera inside the typical punch-hole cutout that we have been seeing for a few years now on devices.

    OnePlus 10 pro camera system

Some extra information points to a 125W charging capacity, but details about the fast charging capabilities are not yet known, but the OnePlus 10 Pro will be IP68 rated for that provides a little extra protection for this massive battery.

  • In an attempt to dethrone Samsung, OnePlus launch a foldable device

In an attempt to dethrone Samsung, OnePlus launch a foldable device

OnePlus has seen a sudden spike in its popularity due to its affordable range of products. The Chinese-based company has been swiftly rising among the ranks while on the other hand, Samsung has experienced a plunge.

Samsung’s latest venture, the Samsung Galaxy S21 has been a major miss with sales hitting an all-time low. The South Korean tech giant hopes to make a swift recovery after their Unpacked event which showcases the foldable devices. This event is monumental for the company since not only is it a chance for Samsung to get back to the top, it will also determine if foldable devices are indeed the future.

OnePlus is aware of the significance of this event and is hoping to use Samsung’s influence to jump-start its campaign. The Chinese smartphone maker teased a mysterious item on social media and claimed it would unveil more details later today. The ambiguous announcement overlaps with Samsung’s Unpacked event hence a brilliant marketing strategy from OnePlus.

    oneplus foldable

    Further Details

According to the teaser, the phone that OnePlus has teased appears to be a dual-screen device, similar to what Samsung is expected to reveal. While the teaser reveals few specifics about the smartphone, we haven’t heard anything about a phone like this being in development. There haven’t been any reports regarding a device similar to this from any source hence if OnePlus is developing such a gadget then it has been kept extremely well hidden.

OnePlus may reveal a dual-screen prototype phone, similar to the Surface Phone, with two distinct displays connected by a hinge. Although the teaser shows two displays, a vertical hinge can also be seen in the center.

Alternatively, it could be a dual-screen attachment, similar to the one LG tried out. The LG Velvet dual-screen accessory wasn’t as thick as the one seen in the OnePlus’ teaser trailer when viewed from the side. Making us think it’s just a gimmick that OnePlus is attempting to pull off.

On Instagram, the Chinese smartphone company recently shared multiple photos of the OnePlus 9 Pro with various fruits. The company attempted to spoof Apple in one such post with a slew of Apples.

Looking at this troll post and the complete absence of details about the next OnePlus product, we believe OnePlus is merely slamming Samsung. And if that’s the case, we’re going to be devastated.

    Summing Up

Details about this mysterious device are extremely scarce hence this might be just a marketing gimmick by OnePlus to gain traction from Samsung’s Unpacked event. Over the past year, the Chinese-based company has released some impressive devices and has become a strong contender in the smartphone manufacturer industry. Its devices are capable of carrying out complicated tasks such as file switch without any trouble. We for sure cannot wait to find out what this mysterious device is. Is it a foldable device from OnePlus or just another device?  We will have to wait just a little longer to find out if Samsung foldable devices have a serious competitor or was it just an elaborate marketing gimmick to steal the spotlight.

  • OnePlus Nord 2 5G: All you need to know

OnePlus Nord 2 5G: All you need to know

Recently , OnePlus has revealed that its OxygenOS would be combined with its new parent company’s ColorOS. This announcement comes almost after a month of the merger. Now, Nord 2, OnePlus’ first smartphone to forego Qualcomm in favor of a custom-tuned MediaTek flagship CPU, is set to come soon.

    oneplus nord 2

    OnePlus Nord 2 5G

OnePlus has officially stated that the Nord 2 will be its next budget-friendly phone, and that it will launch soon with the MediaTek Helio 1200 AI engine. The business has recently released two value-for-money phones, the Nord CE 5G and the Nord N200 5G, both of which provide impressive hardware at a reasonable asking price.

The company has already announced that its next phone will be the Nord 2, and that it will be released soon, as the official teaser suggests. The fact that the next phone will be coupled with the MediaTek Helio 1200 AI SoC is the more interesting revelation here. This is significant because it is the first time a OnePlus phone has moved away from long-time partner Qualcomm.

It was also announced that it took part in the MediaTek Dimensity Open Resource Architecture program to develop a customized version of the Dimensity 1200 SoC with AI advancements. The outcome is the Dimensity 1200 AI, as OnePlus calls it. This Nord 2’s custom-tuned flagship MediaTek chip features AI-assisted imagery for improved photography and display.

The AI Video Enhancement technique, for example, allows for live HDR effects during video capture, automated resolution upscaling while using social media apps, and high-refresh-rate optimization for a few mobile games. The chipset will also support the DOL-HDR technology from the OnePlus 9 series, which pushes HDR video capture to new heights.

The OnePlus Nord 2 is rumored to have a triple rear camera arrangement with a 50-megapixel main camera and a Sony IMX766 sensor, which is also seen on the more premium OnePlus 9 Pro. It will apparently come equipped with an 8-megapixel wide-angle camera and a 2-megapixel depth sensor, as well as a 32-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies.

The phone features a 6.53-inch FHD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate, as well as a 4,500 mAh battery to keep the lights on. The MediaTek Dimensity 1200 AI chipset will be accompanied by up to 8GB of RAM, which is more than enough for a mid-range phone. The design of the Nord 2 is heavily influenced by that of the OnePlus 9, right down to the flat display with hole-punch output and back camera placement.

    Verdict

Overall, it seems like a promising device that will be able to carry out tasks such as phone clone with ease. Since OnePlus is known for its budget phones with premium features, we think this would be a popular choice among consumers. We’ll have to wait for the release day to test it out and see if it is as good as it sounds.

  • Free wireless earbuds on OnePlus Nord N10 or N100 pre-order

Free wireless earbuds on OnePlus Nord N10 or N100 pre-order

The latest phones in the OnePlus range are coming to the US next week, and you can pre-order them as of today. Not only that, both the OnePlus Nord N10 and Nord N100 come with free OnePlus-branded earbuds thrown in as a sweetener.

You can use OnePlus Nord N10 and N100 Onn Virtual Reality Headset

The buds you get depend on which device you go for, but they are much cheaper than the premium OnePlus flagships for both phones. The OnePlus Nord N10 is available for $299.99 and you’ll also get a free pair of OnePlus Buds Z when you pre-order it before January 15.

The Nord N10 has 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage and is a solid mid-ranger. It is not, by any means, a world-beating smartphone, but it is a capable phone and an inexpensive way of entering the 5G revolution.

The OnePlus Nord N100 retails for just $179.99 if you’re on a tighter budget. It is aimed at offering value for money. As standard, with a large battery, a 90Hz screen, and Oxygen OS. There are trade-offs at this price point, as you would imagine, though, with both the camera and output left a little wanting.

    earbuds

On the plus side, when you pre-order the Nord N100, the free gift you get is a pair of OnePlus Bullets Wireless Z earbuds. Both these earbuds and the Buds Z are worth about $50, so if you already had your eye on one of these cheap phones, they’re a good extra incentive.

  • #leak OnePlus 9 5G early hands-on photos

    #leak OnePlus 9 5G early hands-on photos

    oneplus 9

We’re only a few months away from the next launch of the OnePlus flagship, but that definitely hasn’t dissuaded a sea of leaks from pouring out and giving away almost all the OnePlus 9 needs to know. PhoneArena recently released a bunch of pictures of the regular OnePlus 9, entering the leak spree, giving us a better idea of what the final version would look like.

The OnePlus 9 does not look all that distinct from the 8T in these purported images of a prototype unit from the front and sides. You get the same hole-punch positioned to the top-left corner of the monitor and no headphone jack is found again. The display seems to have slightly more rounded corners, but given the low quality of these pictures, it’s hard to be certain.

What’s really changed is the phone’s back. The camera lenses further stick out of the already protruding housing and have a metal ring encircling them, possibly just for aesthetics and to mimic recent iPhones. However, the arrangement looks closer to the Oppo Reno4 Pro, including the ‘Ultra Shot’ branding, which seems like the OnePlus take on Oppo’s ‘Ultra Steady.’ This is likely since both sister companies often share their underlying device development platforms.

The OnePlus 9 5G is also expected to have a 16MP camera on the front, while the main camera will have a 48MP sensor on the front (even though the on-device specs tell a different tale). Some phone screenshots point to the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chip and an 8/128GB memory/storage setup, with likely more options on the cards. With the newly redesigned OxygenOS 11 running on top, the phone will run Android 11. In both the resolution and refresh rate, the display will continue to measure 6.55-inches, matching its predecessor.

These images are closely associated with the CAD renders we saw as part of a separate leak earlier. At this point, we expect OnePlus to add another phone, the OnePlus 9E, which sounds like a step down from the regular 9, to its main flagship lineup.

A previous report suggested that OnePlus could opt for an early release, moving up to March from its usual timeframe of May, which would probably be a move intended to counter Samsung’s earlier Galaxy S21 launch.

Eagle debloater V2.0 – debloat OxygenOS magisk module

When you get a new phone, the last thing you want to deal with is a bunch of preinstalled programs looking back at you. Not only do they clutter your home screen with applications that you might never use, but they also waste room on your internal storage and possibly drain your battery. You’ll need root to really uninstall them, but even then, it can be hard to pin down all the apps that should be deleted.

Super-limited closed beta for OnePlus Nord’s is now open — apply now

    one plus nord

OnePlus runs one of the most public-facing app testing activities among the handset manufacturers we cover at Android Police and it is not shocking to see another beta testing community launch, this time for its newest handset, the Nord.

    (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});

The company invites up to 200 Nord owners who are willing to provide timely input through a OnePlus Slack channel on features on future OxygenOS builds for the Nord. Ideally, already involved and vibrant, prospective participants would need to have a OnePlus Forum account and need to be comfortable with backing up their data for occasional picture flashing. They would also need to sign a contract for non-disclosure.

This survey can be filled out by those who are involved. Setting up the closed beta community would pave the way for more secure open beta photos that can be flashed on their own by any user.

It’s very odd to see such a commonly available beta structure for a €300 handset, regardless of the fact that we are dealing with OnePlus here.
