Xiaomi MIX Fold 5 Spotted with XRING O3 Chipset in Mi Code Leak

Fresh clues from the Mi Code database point to Xiaomi’s next foldable flagship making a comeback. After scrapping last year’s prototype, the company seems more committed than ever to foldables, with a device that hits a key hardware milestone: Xiaomi’s first foldable running its own silicon.

The Foldable Comeback and XRING O3

MIX Fold 5 Spotted with XRING O3 Chipset

Mi Code data lists a new entry with model number 2608BPX34C and internal designation Q18. Within Xiaomi’s naming system, the “18” series is reserved exclusively for Fold devices, making Q18 a clear match for the upcoming Xiaomi MIX Fold 5 (or possibly Xiaomi 17 Fold, though it’s currently tagged as MIX Fold 5).

The biggest surprise is the chipset. The listing confirms the device will run on the XRING O3 processor, following the XRING O1 that launched in the 2025 Xiaomi 15S Pro. This marks Xiaomi’s boldest step yet in custom silicon for premium “Special Edition” China models, reducing dependence on third-party suppliers. For reference, the Xiaomi MIX Flip 3 sticks with a Snapdragon chipset.

MIX Fold 5 Spotted with XRING O3 Chipset

The project carries the codename “lhasa.” Last year’s abandoned foldable worked under codename “nirvana” with model O18. By shelving O18 entirely, Xiaomi redirected efforts to “lhasa,” ensuring smooth XRING O3 integration with Xiaomi HyperOS from day one.

    Availability

The Xiaomi MIX Fold 5 will launch exclusively in China initially. While exact pricing remains under wraps, analysts anticipate a high-end starting point around $1,399 to take on premium foldable rivals. The model number hints at an August 2026 debut, potentially timed for Xiaomi Day on 8.16 with a special unveiling event.

Dropping the XRING O3 into a flagship foldable shows Xiaomi’s growing trust in its chip team. These processors currently power only top-tier China models, but Xiaomi’s broader plans point toward global XRING devices once the supporting ecosystem fully matures.

  • Huawei Pura X Max Spotted Ahead of Launch – Massive Design Shift Exposed

Huawei Pura X Max Spotted Ahead of Launch – Massive Design Shift Exposed

Days before Huawei’s April 20 launch event, live images of the Pura X Max have surfaced online — and the wide-folding phone looks every bit as ambitious in person as it did on paper.

A design that makes a statement

    Huawei Pura X Max white

The leaked shots show the Pura X Max in glossy white, and the back panel is where things get interesting. Rather than a conventional camera island, Huawei has divided the rear into three distinct zones — a bold camera section at the top, flanked below by two panels: one with vertical lines, one with horizontal. It’s a geometric approach that gives the device a visual identity you won’t mistake for anything else.

The camera housing itself is a large pill-shaped module carrying three lens rings — an upgrade over the first-generation model. The center ring holds two lenses, with LED flashes positioned on either side. Notably, the entire camera section takes up roughly a third of the back panel, making it the clear focal point of the design.

HUAWEI branding sits on the vertical-line panel, while a small XMAGE logo is embedded just beneath the camera pill — subtle, but present. The frame appears to be metal throughout.

    Pocket-sized power, tablet-sized screen

Huawei Pura X Max open in tablet mode

Folded, the Pura X Max fits comfortably in one hand. Open it up, and you’re looking at something closer to a mini tablet — with a clean, clutter-free home screen on both the main display and the cover panel. No visual noise, just usable space.

    What we know so far

The Pura X Max is already listed for pre-sale on Huawei’s VMall with five color options and four RAM and storage configurations. The full reveal is just days away on April 20.

Based on these first real-world photos, Huawei appears to have built something that holds up outside of a studio shoot. We’ll know everything else very soon.

  • The Razr Fold Is Almost Here — Here’s Everything You Need to Know

The Razr Fold Is Almost Here — Here’s Everything You Need to Know

Motorola didn’t exactly shout it from the rooftops, but buried in the fine print of its UK pre-order page is a shipping date: May 6.

That makes the Razr Fold — Motorola’s first book-style foldable, departing from its signature flip-phone Razr lineup — one of the most imminent big foldable launches of the year.

Pre-orders are live in the UK and Europe

Motorola is already taking pre-orders across the UK and Europe, and the early incentives are hard to ignore. Every pre-order comes with a free Moto Watch and Moto Buds Loop. UK buyers also get a £220 discount, dropping the price to £1,579.99. European customers save €250, bringing it down to €1,749.99.

No official US release date has been announced yet, though Motorola is collecting registrations on its US site.

    Motorola Razr Fold

What will it cost in the US?

Direct currency conversion puts the UK price around $2,443 and the European price around $2,362 — but those figures won’t translate to US shelf prices. Based on Motorola’s typical pricing patterns, expect a $1,999 starting price stateside, which would put it squarely in line with Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 7.

One edge the Razr Fold has at that price: 512GB of storage comes standard on the entry model.

    Motorola Razr Fold colors

    What you’re actually getting

In hands-on time with the device, the Razr Fold feels slightly thicker and heavier than its competition — a fair trade-off for what’s packed inside. The spec sheet is legitimate flagship territory: triple 50MP cameras, a 6,000 mAh battery, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, 16GB RAM, and support for the Moto Pen Ultra stylus.

No obvious compromises. Just a different form factor than Razr fans are used to.

    The bigger picture

Motorola is entering the book-style foldable market at a smart moment — ahead of Apple’s widely anticipated iPhone Fold, expected this fall. Whether “Razr” is the right name for a phone that doesn’t flip is a fair question, but the hardware makes a strong case for itself.

The foldable wars are heating up. Motorola just picked a side.

  • Unboxing images of the OPPO Find N5 show off its ultra-thin design and flawless crease

Unboxing images of the OPPO Find N5 show off its ultra-thin design and flawless crease

The CEO of the OPPO, Zhou Yibao, posted a number of actual images of the much awaited OPPO Find N5 on Weibo. The Find N5 is being shown off in such detail before its official release for the first time.

The pictures verify that the “blade” metaphor from earlier teasers accurately describes the OPPO Find N5. The device’s almost flawless straight-line look when unfolded highlights its incredibly lightweight and tiny design. This design decision boosts ergonomics for a more comfortable user experience in addition to aesthetics.

With a high screen-to-body ratio and a pure straight external screen, the Find N5 offers a pleasant grip when folded and an immersive viewing experience. Furthermore, OPPO offers additional durability straight out of the box by pre-applying special protective films to the inner and outer screens.

One noteworthy feature of the Find N5 is the three-stage mute button, which is conveniently located at the top of the main frame and lines up with the volume buttons. Additionally, the smartphone is packaged with a plastic and leather protective case that is specifically made to safeguard the hinge, a vital component of foldable phones.

Additionally, Zhou Yibao verified that the Find N5 has moved into the shipment approval phase, suggesting that the formal launch is quickly approaching. Now that this last phase has been finished, OPPO will soon formally introduce its newest foldable smartphone.

Find N5: proving OPPO’s crease durability

This real-world example shows OPPO’s dedication to offering long-lasting foldable screen quality for those concerned about crease deterioration over time. Excitement is growing for the OPPO Find N5’s formal debut as it enters its final review stage. As OPPO gets ready to reveal its next-generation foldable gadget, stay tuned for further developments!

  • The display crease fom OnePlus Open is almost unnoticeable

The display crease fom OnePlus Open is almost unnoticeable

The OnePlus Open and OPPO Find N3 are the same smartphone, according to CEO Pete Lau, and we recently received our first official glimpse at it via a well-known YouTube channel. Another YouTuber has now been given access to the phone, and in this video, we can see the phone’s main display in detail as well as how it measures up against the Galaxy Z Fold 5.

In a video published by Jagat Review, we see the Open/Find N3 up close once more. But exactly like previously, a piece of paper has been placed over the camera equipment.

The Open/Find N3 is almost as thick as Samsung’s foldable when placed side by side with the Galaxy Z Fold 5. When opened up, it is a little bit wider than the Fold 5. There isn’t much more to learn about the exterior of the phone besides that. Once the device is opened, though, something does stand out.

    Youtube video

We see the primary display several times in the video. There is a screen crease there to welcome you, just like on any other foldable phone. The display wrinkle on the Galaxy Z Fold 5 appears to be much less noticeable when compared to the Open/Find N3, though. In contrast, Samsung’s foldable’s screen wrinkle resembles almost a valley.

Additionally, we know that the hinge on the Open/Find N3 is 37% smaller than the one in the Find N2. Lau has also boasted that the hinge uses 31 fewer components than before.

It won’t be much longer before the OnePlus Open comes out, with an expected launch date of October 19. With 10 days left, we’ll see if any new leaks come out before the launch.

  • Oppo teases with brands first foldable device!

Oppo teases with brands first foldable device!

    Find N: coming soon

Foldable cellphones will become a popular trend by 2021. The upcoming Oppo Find N was teased in a recent blog post by Pete Lau, Oppo’s head of product and CEO of OnePlus. It will be Oppo’s first foldable phone, and it will be released on December 15, 2021.

Oppo’s new foldable smartphone will be unveiled on the second day of next week’s “Inno Day” event. Pete Lau admits in his blog post that Oppo is late to the foldable market. However, he also mentions that lack of services, limited durability, and user experience have all been issues with foldable cellphones thus far. Oppo first debuted its prototype in 2019 and has been working on it ever since to finally release the first gadget.

Although a handful of other brands have already launched foldable devices to the market, barriers such as utility, durability, and user experience continue to prevent foldable devices from becoming a more feasible daily driver for most people.

A single display surrounded the smartphone in the first prototype. The new Find N, on the other hand, is rumored to have a huge screen on the inside and a little smaller display on the back. As a result, Oppo appears to be working on a rival to Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 3. Oppo’s goal, according to Lau, is to create a smartphone that is not only beautiful to look at and feel nice in the hand, but also simple to operate.

Find N to be released soon

Oppo has produced six further prototypes after revealing its debut in 2018. This procedure is thought to culminate with the Find N. According to Lau, the quality of a gadget is more essential to Oppo than following every trend. As a result, he said, development has been put on hold, albeit the Find N is expected to provide users with a unique experience.

At the Inno Days event, Oppo will be unveiling other products apart from the Find N. Among other things, the Oppo X 2021, AR glasses and a smartphone with a retractable camera will be presented. We’ll be bringing you all the essential info about Inno Day on Droid Tools, so be sure to check it out!

  • In an attempt to dethrone Samsung, OnePlus launch a foldable device

In an attempt to dethrone Samsung, OnePlus launch a foldable device

OnePlus has seen a sudden spike in its popularity due to its affordable range of products. The Chinese-based company has been swiftly rising among the ranks while on the other hand, Samsung has experienced a plunge.

Samsung’s latest venture, the Samsung Galaxy S21 has been a major miss with sales hitting an all-time low. The South Korean tech giant hopes to make a swift recovery after their Unpacked event which showcases the foldable devices. This event is monumental for the company since not only is it a chance for Samsung to get back to the top, it will also determine if foldable devices are indeed the future.

OnePlus is aware of the significance of this event and is hoping to use Samsung’s influence to jump-start its campaign. The Chinese smartphone maker teased a mysterious item on social media and claimed it would unveil more details later today. The ambiguous announcement overlaps with Samsung’s Unpacked event hence a brilliant marketing strategy from OnePlus.

    Further Details

According to the teaser, the phone that OnePlus has teased appears to be a dual-screen device, similar to what Samsung is expected to reveal. While the teaser reveals few specifics about the smartphone, we haven’t heard anything about a phone like this being in development. There haven’t been any reports regarding a device similar to this from any source hence if OnePlus is developing such a gadget then it has been kept extremely well hidden.

OnePlus may reveal a dual-screen prototype phone, similar to the Surface Phone, with two distinct displays connected by a hinge. Although the teaser shows two displays, a vertical hinge can also be seen in the center.

Alternatively, it could be a dual-screen attachment, similar to the one LG tried out. The LG Velvet dual-screen accessory wasn’t as thick as the one seen in the OnePlus’ teaser trailer when viewed from the side. Making us think it’s just a gimmick that OnePlus is attempting to pull off.

On Instagram, the Chinese smartphone company recently shared multiple photos of the OnePlus 9 Pro with various fruits. The company attempted to spoof Apple in one such post with a slew of Apples.

Looking at this troll post and the complete absence of details about the next OnePlus product, we believe OnePlus is merely slamming Samsung. And if that’s the case, we’re going to be devastated.

    Summing Up

Details about this mysterious device are extremely scarce hence this might be just a marketing gimmick by OnePlus to gain traction from Samsung’s Unpacked event. Over the past year, the Chinese-based company has released some impressive devices and has become a strong contender in the smartphone manufacturer industry. Its devices are capable of carrying out complicated tasks such as file switch without any trouble. We for sure cannot wait to find out what this mysterious device is. Is it a foldable device from OnePlus or just another device?  We will have to wait just a little longer to find out if Samsung foldable devices have a serious competitor or was it just an elaborate marketing gimmick to steal the spotlight.
